I bought this in a last minute fit of “oh god, what have I done?” the night before I launched on a 29 day trip down the colorado river. The brim was stiff enough to keep the water from going down my neck when I ducked my head in rapids, and the hat survived the marathon trip none the worse for wear. It kept my glasses dry during the rain we got on that trip, too. Now it’s my go-to hat for kayaking and the only time it has failed me was when I was paddling into 25 mile per hour winds. The brim pretty much gave up and stayed plastered to my forehead for that paddle but in milder conditions, it has fared well. Two years of that kind of abuse and it still looks pretty much the same as when I bought it.
The brim is wide enough to shade my face and neck, though I do wish it was a little wider for angled sun. That said, I’m not sure it would be stiff enough without wire if it was wider, and I’d rather have it be crushable. It’s a great hat. Looks decent, stays on, and has taken all the abuse I’ve thrown at it with no noticeable wear and tear.

I really like this hat and I’m pretty sure it’ll work for me. I feel like I have a large head (23 inches) so I was a little worried about it being a “medium”, but it feels comfortable. If my head was any bigger it wouldn’t work. There’s not much room between the top of my head and the inside of the hat, not sure if that will make a difference with keeping me cool, but I live that it is reversible and has the upf 50+. I got the green/gray one.

The best feature of this hat is the adjustable head size! I am petite with a small head and up till now I was unable to find a hat to fit. It fits perfectly and even has sun protection. It can’t get better than that!!! Oops, and I forgot to add it is reversible.

I have never been a hat person but I bought this hat to keep the sun out of my eyes while sitting outside or doing yard work. The spf 50 was an added bonus! I wear the hat when outside and so happy that I bought it, it keeps the sun out of my eyes and protects my face from the sun. Definitely recommend!!

I have a love/hate relationship with hats. I like the way they look, but I hate wearing them. This hat overcomes much of that. It is very lightweight where you need it to be – on top of your head – but has enough structure to stay put in the wind. My last similar hat would respond to the slightest breeze by the brim completely flipping over. What was the point? This hat will stay put on a breezy day, continuing to shade your face, but will still keep your head as cool as possible in the sun and heat.
The bonus, of course, is that it is reversible. True, you have to do a tiny amount of work to accomplish that, but in a minute you will have the same hat in a different color.

I love this hat. When I was recently in Africa, I noticed a few women in my group with Sunday Afternoons’ hats and decided to order one for myself for an upcoming hiking trip. Very cool and comfortable, and what’s not to love about a reversible hat. More bang for your buck!

LOVE this, soooo happy I purchased it just before a long staycation~ I got the M versus the S and am glad I opted for that, it was extremely comfortable and I believe it looked cute, I FELT adorable and so much more sun protected than my old balls caps and happy during long days in the Gulf and pools. I liked it so much, I bought a second one. The brim is not rigid or as wide as some of the others, but this is perfect for me. I can shove it in a daypack, wash it, reverse it and it always looks good. I mostly wear it for yard work, hiking, and walking my dog. I like to keep one in the car and it has even come in handy on rainy days. Sometimes the brim will flip up if it’s a little windy, but it doesn’t bother me because I rarely need a stiff brim.

I LOVE this hat! This was so worth the wait; fits perfectly, the purple side is a soft lavender with grey trim and the flip side is soft grey with deep lavender trim. While boonies are not noted for being the most attractive of hats, this one, in my opinion, looks great!
